Dental abscess removal

Reset Decrease Increase
Dental abscess is an area of pus that forms when the body tries to fight an infection.

The immune system sends white blood cells to the infected place, for the removal of the bacteria that cause the infection.

Pus contains live cells and dead cells, as well as enzymes.

An abscess forms when the pus has nowhere to drain.

In the following material is presented the drainage of an abscess that has 2 cm in diameter.

The abscess is located on the palate.

The dentist that makes the procedure will make an incision at the abscess in order to speed its drainage

The fluid inside the abscess will be vacuumed with a special instrument.

The site is then cleaned and disinfected.
